Welcome Interns

At Safe Places for Women, we believe part of ending trafficking is investing in the next generation of people who will join the fight. This summer, we are excited to welcome two incredible interns to Safe Places for Women: Taytum and Annamarie.

Last year, Michelle Frank launched our internship program with the heart of mentoring and equipping young leaders who feel called to this work. Through this 12-week program, interns are given the opportunity to learn about the realities of trafficking, shadow different areas of nonprofit ministry, participate in outreach, experience deep discipleship, and discover where their own gifts and passions may intersect with the needs in this field. From joining outreach teams on East Colfax to learning about nonprofit operations, survivor care, and ministry leadership, interns are invited into both the beauty and weight of this work.

People thrive where the burden God has placed on their hearts, the gifts He has uniquely given them, and the real needs in the world come together. Our hope is to help young leaders discern where God may be calling them and to walk alongside them in that process. Because of supporters like you, young leaders are being equipped and mentored to step into this work with compassion, wisdom, and hope.

Taytum first connected with Safe Places through a family connection with Michelle, but what began as simple curiosity became something deeper. As she prayed about how to spend her summer, she felt God leading her toward this work and a growing desire to serve women impacted by exploitation and trafficking. Taytum is currently serving in the Army National Guard and hopes to pursue a future career in law enforcement as a special agent, possibly working trafficking-related cases one day.

Annamarie first felt drawn toward anti-trafficking work a few years ago, but wasn’t sure where to begin. Shortly after, Michelle Frank visited her church to share about the mission of Safe Places for Women, and Annamarie began volunteering soon after. Through this internship, she is excited to gain hands-on experience learning how nonprofits operate while discovering where her own gifts and passions may best fit in the future.

Both of these young women are spending their summer learning, serving, growing in their faith, and stepping into meaningful ministry alongside our team. Thank-you for making this internship possible. Please join us in praying over God’s direction in their lives, this opportunity to grow and learn, and for God to orchestrate their steps as they lean into him for next steps with schooling and their careers.

P.S. If you or someone you know may be interested in participating in our internship program next summer, we encourage you to reach out this August to learn more details and consider submitting an application.
