She's Here
Three simple words—yet they carry the weight of so many prayers. She made it.
When we began street outreach a few months ago, we prayed for her—the first woman who would respond to an invitation to leave trafficking. We didn’t know her name or her face. We just knew she existed. And we asked God to bring her to safety.
Only two weeks ago, we began handing out small cards with a phone number—one quiet lifeline, offered in faith—that women could use if they ever chose to reach out for help.
Today, that call came.
She was injured because her trafficker had tried to run her over. Still, she knew she had to move. She quietly changed hotel rooms so he wouldn’t know where she was. She coordinated with the front desk to avoid being seen. On a badly injured ankle, she slipped down two back staircases—careful, determined—while he was still inside the same hotel, checking in another woman to another room.
Every step carried risk. Every decision required courage.
Finally, she reached a place where she could call. That call came to us.
With the help of our partner ministry, Jesus on Colfax, we responded immediately. Her immediate needs are being met. She knows her options. And today, she gets to choose where she lays her head.
Today, no one is in her bed but her.
Today, she has space to begin to breathe.
Today, she is free to begin thinking about her future.
So we invite you to join us on our knees—praying for her healing, her protection, and her restoration. Pray that she would encounter Jesus, the ultimate Redeemer and Restorer. And then, pray for the next woman who will call.
Because this—this is only the beginning.
